Mari Energies Limited and xLoop have launched a fully funded digital skills training initiative aimed at empowering youth from underserved communities across Pakistan, with a focus on equipping them with industry relevant expertise and direct employment opportunities. The programme, titled Mari Digital Skills, Training and Employment Program, was formally inaugurated at xLoop’s office in Karachi, bringing together representatives from both organisations and marking a step towards expanding access to technology driven careers for individuals from remote regions.

The five month initiative is designed to train 100 students drawn from interior Sindh, Waziristan, and areas surrounding Mari Energies’ operational fields, with a curriculum that combines technical instruction and career readiness. Delivered through xLoop’s training arm xCelerate, the programme covers high demand fields such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, web development, cloud native development, cybersecurity, and data engineering. Participants have been selected exclusively from underserved communities, with the entire programme funded to remove financial barriers and ensure inclusivity. Upon successful completion, all participants will be offered employment with xLoop and integrated into international cloud and artificial intelligence projects as part of the company’s global taskforce, making it a distinctive initiative in Pakistan’s training landscape.

Officials involved in the programme emphasised that the selection process was strictly merit based to ensure that the most capable candidates benefit from the opportunity. Representatives from Mari Energies noted that the initiative had received a significant number of applications from across different regions, reflecting strong demand for such programmes. The emphasis on merit, they said, was intended to maintain quality while ensuring that deserving individuals are provided access to world class training and sustainable career pathways. The programme is positioned as a means to address economic challenges by creating avenues for stable livelihoods through skill development in the digital economy.

The initiative also places strong emphasis on soft skills development alongside technical training, recognising the importance of communication, adaptability, and professional readiness in the modern workplace. Trainers from xLoop highlighted that the programme is structured to support participants from diverse educational backgrounds, enabling them to build confidence and competence in using technology effectively. By combining technical expertise with workplace skills and guaranteed employment, the programme reflects a broader trend in Pakistan’s technology sector where private organisations are increasingly contributing to capacity building and workforce development, particularly in regions that have traditionally had limited access to such opportunities.
