The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched a new mobile application to digitize public water services, offering residents a faster and more convenient way to access essential services from their smartphones. Developed by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), the application is designed to improve service delivery, increase transparency and reduce the need for citizens to visit government offices for routine water-related matters.
The app was officially inaugurated by Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering Fazal Shakoor Khan in the presence of senior department officials. Available in both Urdu and English, the platform serves as a one-stop digital portal where users can manage multiple water-related services through a single interface.
Among its key features, the application allows consumers to view and pay water bills online, check outstanding dues, register complaints and monitor the status of their requests in real time. Users can also access information about clean drinking water schemes, ongoing development projects and local water supply infrastructure, while the app provides direct contact details for relevant departmental offices to streamline communication between citizens and the government.
Officials believe the digital platform will significantly improve response times for complaints while enhancing accountability through real-time tracking and digital recordkeeping. By moving several services online, the department also aims to reduce paperwork, improve operational efficiency and provide greater convenience for residents across the province.
The initiative aligns with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s broader digital transformation agenda, which has seen the provincial government expand online public services across multiple departments in recent months. By leveraging digital platforms for citizen services, the government aims to modernize public administration, improve accessibility and strengthen transparency in service delivery.
The launch of the water services app represents another step toward building a more digitally connected public sector in Pakistan. As more government departments adopt technology-driven solutions, citizens are expected to benefit from faster service delivery, improved access to information and more efficient interaction with public institutions.
