Jaxeri Automotive (Pvt.) Ltd., Pakistan’s pioneering indigenous electric car manufacturer, is gearing up for the launch of a fully-electric compact SUV in the country in 2025. This ambitious venture aims to make a mark in the evolving electric vehicle (EV) landscape.

In a recent development, the Chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Muhammad Najeeb Haroon, paid a visit to Jaxeri Automotive’s local Research and Development (R&D) facility. During the meeting, the company provided an update on its strides in the realm of car manufacturing, specifically highlighting progress on the fully electric small SUV.

The company’s representatives emphasized that the SUV will be designed and manufactured locally, underscoring a commitment to promoting domestic manufacturing capabilities. The current target for the SUV’s launch in Pakistan is set for 2025.

Jaxeri Nur-E 75, an electric hatchback prototype, was unveiled in Pakistan on August 14, 2022. This prototype was developed in collaboration with the DICE Foundation, a US-based NGO led by individuals of Pakistani origin, with the aim of penetrating the economy car market.

The Nur-E 75 features a single electric motor with 107HP/200Nm, boasting a top speed of 127 Km/hr. Its 35 KWh battery offers an estimated range of 200 kilometers. Regular charging takes approximately 7-8 hours, while fast charging can be completed in just 2 hours.

The Chairman of the DICE Foundation disclosed last year that commercial production of the Nur-E 75 is scheduled to commence around Q4 2024, with approximately 60% of its components to be sourced locally. However, given Pakistan’s evolving economic landscape, car prices are expected to see upward adjustments.

Jaxeri Automotive’s foray into the electric vehicle sector signifies a significant step toward advancing sustainable transportation solutions in Pakistan, aligning with global efforts to embrace environmentally friendly mobility options.
