Huawei Pakistan took a significant leap in the realm of solar power technology by unveiling a white paper on Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) for Photovoltaic (PV) systems on Tuesday. The launch, a collaborative effort with the Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) and the Center for Advanced Research in Engineering and Development (CERAD), is set to redefine the landscape of PV power plant development in the country.

The launch event, featuring a technical white paper launch ceremony, had Ethan Sun, CEO of Huawei Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of AFCI in advancing technological frontiers. Sun stated that the objective is to establish a foundation for technological development and promotions. The technical white paper is intended to serve as a guiding document for enterprises involved in PV power plant development, enabling them to enhance their products continuously in response to evolving situations and application requirements.

Ethan Sun highlighted that the document serves as a comprehensive guide for industry stakeholders, elucidating the development background, technical principles, challenges, features, and tangible results of AFCI technology verification and evaluation.

Managing Director of PPIB, Shah Jahan Mirza, praised Huawei’s commitment to technological advancement and expressed optimism that the introduction of this cutting-edge technology would play a pivotal role in addressing Pakistan’s power challenges. He emphasized that the Technical White Paper on Intelligent DC Arc Detection (AFCI) jointly released by PPIB, CERAD, and Huawei serves as a valuable resource for the industry.

The white paper explores the development background, technical principles, challenges, verification results, and application prospects of AFCI technology.

The event was attended by Yang Guangyuan, the Commercial Counselor for the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, who, along with Managing Director PPIB and CEO Huawei, initiated the launch sequence for the White Paper document. The White Paper on AFCI is expected to catalyze further innovation and set new benchmarks for the integration of cutting-edge technologies in the pursuit of sustainable, safe, and energy-efficient energy for Pakistan.
