Google Vids Update Brings Longer AI Videos and Parallel Generation

Google has rolled out a significant update to Google Vids, its artificial intelligence-powered video creation tool within Google Workspace, introducing two major capabilities that address some of the platform’s most notable limitations. The update, driven by Google’s Veo artificial intelligence model, allows users to generate multiple video clips at the same time and extend existing clips with greater visual consistency than was previously possible.

One of the most requested improvements to Google Vids has been the ability to run parallel video generation, and this update delivers exactly that. Rather than waiting for one clip to finish rendering before submitting the next prompt, users can now send multiple video generation requests simultaneously. This makes it considerably easier to compare different styles, visual concepts, and creative directions side by side, without the delays that came from processing each clip in sequence. For content teams and marketers, the ability to test and iterate on multiple ideas at once can significantly cut down on production time.

Alongside parallel generation, Google has introduced artificial intelligence-powered video extension through the Veo model. Users can now take existing clips and lengthen them while preserving consistent characters, motion patterns, and scene continuity throughout. This results in smoother transitions across longer videos and reduces the visual inconsistencies that often emerge when extending artificially generated footage. The combination of these two features positions Google Vids as a more practical option for professional use cases such as marketing content, employee training materials, and longer-form video storytelling. Both capabilities are accessible directly within the Google Vids web application and require no additional configuration from administrators.

The update is being rolled out across both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains and is available to a wide range of users, including those on Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, and Enterprise plans, as well as Education Plus users, Teaching and Learning customers, nonprofit organizations, personal Google account holders, and subscribers to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra. Users who have the AI Expanded Access add-on will receive elevated priority limits for parallel video generation, meaning they can process a greater number of artificial intelligence video requests at the same time compared to standard users. Google Vids was originally introduced as a workspace tool for creating presentations and business videos directly from text prompts, and this latest integration of the Veo model marks a clear step toward making it a more capable platform for professional video production at scale.
