Pakistan officially marked its presence at one of the world’s leading technology events with the inauguration of its country pavilion at London Tech Week 2025. The pavilion was formally inaugurated by Dr. Samina Zehra, Economic Minister at the High Commission of Pakistan in London, along with Mr. Abu Bakar, CEO of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). The ceremony celebrated Pakistan’s growing involvement in international tech exhibitions and its increasing recognition as a rising digital economy on the global stage.
Organized with support from the Ministry of IT and Telecom, PSEB, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, and Pakistan IT Industry Association (PASHA), the Pakistan Pavilion offers a platform for showcasing the country’s vibrant technology sector. The participation reflects strategic efforts to position Pakistan as a competitive tech destination and to build new bridges with global markets, investors, and partners.
The pavilion hosts a diverse group of technology companies, startups, and innovators from across Pakistan, each demonstrating their products, services, and capabilities to an international audience. From IT exports and software solutions to digital transformation services and AI-based platforms, the exhibits offer a glimpse into the depth of talent and innovation within Pakistan’s tech ecosystem.
Dr. Samina Zehra emphasized the importance of such platforms in promoting Pakistan’s economic diplomacy and strengthening commercial and investment linkages between Pakistani companies and global partners. She noted that the government, through its overseas missions, is actively supporting efforts to amplify the global presence of Pakistan’s digital sector.
Mr. Abu Bakar highlighted PSEB’s ongoing work to scale up the international visibility of Pakistan’s IT industry and promote it as a valuable outsourcing and innovation hub. He shared that initiatives like the Pakistan Pavilion are instrumental in connecting local firms with international buyers and investors, helping to boost export potential and create sustainable business networks.
Pakistan’s participation in London Tech Week comes at a time when the country is seeing a surge in digital entrepreneurship, freelance growth, and export-ready IT services. With initiatives focused on specialized training, infrastructure development, and global branding, stakeholders aim to solidify Pakistan’s reputation as a reliable and emerging tech player.
Industry representatives including Shahbaz Hameed, Amir Anzur, and Sidra Jalil were also present at the event, reflecting a unified front of government, private sector, and diaspora collaboration in driving forward the country’s digital economy vision.
