Zong 4G CEO Meets IT Minister to Discuss Telecom Future

In a recent development, Mr. Huo Junli, CEO of Zong 4G, held a meeting with Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to delve into the future landscape of IT, digitalization, and challenges confronting Pakistan’s telecom sector.

Key topics of discussion included digitalization initiatives, connectivity enhancements, spectrum auction dynamics, and the impending 5G rollout. The gathering also saw the participation of CMPAK’s Chief Regulatory Officer, Mr. Kamran Ali.

Ms. Shaza Fatima’s advocacy for advancing information and communication technology (ICT) underscores the government’s strategic prioritization of technology’s indispensable role in contemporary society. She reiterated her commitment to bolstering nationwide connectivity services and addressing prevailing telecom sector hurdles.

In emphasizing the paramount importance of a robust digital ecosystem, Ms. Shaza Fatima highlighted its pivotal role in propelling digitalization efforts across diverse sectors.

Both Mr. Huo Junli and Ms. Shaza Fatima articulated a shared vision aimed at narrowing the digital divide by establishing a comprehensive digital infrastructure offering cutting-edge technology and seamless connectivity across Pakistan.

Mr. Huo Junli commented on the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication and the telecom industry, asserting their instrumental roles in steering Pakistan’s digital trajectory. He stressed the significance of synergizing efforts to drive digital inclusion, foster digitalization, and ensure robust connectivity, ultimately unlocking IT’s full potential to fuel socio-economic development and uplift communities nationwide.
