With a literacy rate of 58.9% and a poverty rate of 39.4%, Pakistan’s youth faces significant challenges in accessing educational opportunities. UNICEF reports that 44% of children aged 5-9 are out of school, and 11.4 million adolescents aged 10-15 lack formal education due to the educational gap between urban and rural areas.

In response to this disparity, Zong 4G and Knowledge Platform joined forces to digitize educational opportunities, aiming to make education accessible to every child in the nation. This initiative aligns with Zong 4G’s Sustainability Initiative, focusing on equal educational opportunities for children regardless of background.

Knowledge Platform, a Singapore-based learning solutions provider established in 2000, brings cutting-edge Ed-tech and interactive learning modules to this collaboration. Zong 4G sees Knowledge Platform as a key player in advancing digital education in Pakistan.

The partnership, known as Zong Digital Scholars, targets nearly 3000 students in 60 schools along the Pak-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) belt. Specifically, the collaboration focuses on grades 9th and 10th, offering tailored courses and extensive learning solutions in subjects like Mathematics, English, Biology, and Chemistry. The approach involves introducing digital content, assessment systems, and learning games to make education more engaging.

Zong Digital Scholars aims to identify outstanding students and reward them with specially tailored, free-of-cost courses. Recognizing exceptional students is expected to create a positive learning environment, motivating others to excel in their studies.

As a major player in the digital revolution, Zong 4G remains committed to providing digital opportunities in Pakistan. Zong’s Digital Scholars project is designed to shape the future of Pakistani youth, particularly those facing challenges in marginalized areas, and empower them with quality education.
