Tech Valley has announced that its chief executive officer Umar Farooq has been appointed as a member of the Google for Education Partner Advisory Board. The appointment places him among a select group of global leaders working closely with Google to provide input on product roadmaps, market strategies, and future trends in education technology. It marks a notable step for Pakistan’s representation in the global EdTech landscape and is expected to create opportunities for collaboration that extend beyond national boundaries.

As part of his new role, Umar Farooq will contribute perspectives on how education technology can be designed to meet diverse regional needs. The board provides a platform where leaders from across the world share insights that shape tools used by schools and educators globally. By participating in discussions on product design and development strategies, he will represent the requirements and aspirations of institutions and students from Pakistan and South Asia. His presence ensures that the challenges faced in emerging economies are better understood within global product planning.

The appointment also highlights the strengthening role of Tech Valley as an active player in advancing digital education initiatives. The company has been involved in multiple projects aimed at improving access to technology in classrooms and developing partnerships that expand digital literacy. Through the advisory board, its leadership will now be directly engaged in discussions that define the future of digital learning tools. This collaboration is intended to promote solutions that are inclusive and adaptable to different learning environments, whether urban classrooms or remote schools with limited infrastructure.

For Pakistan, the development reflects a broader trend of increasing participation in global technology platforms. By having representation in decision-making groups such as Google for Education’s advisory board, local stakeholders gain a channel to influence how technology is adapted for classrooms worldwide. It also creates opportunities for knowledge sharing, mentorship, and market linkages that can support the local EdTech ecosystem. Umar Farooq’s appointment is being seen within the industry as an affirmation that local expertise can contribute meaningfully to shaping the trajectory of digital learning globally.
