Sindh authorities are extending electronic traffic enforcement to Hyderabad after the successful implementation of the e-challan system in Karachi. Officials announced that the initiative will cover all three districts of Hyderabad division, with the initial phase focusing on the city’s major roads. The expansion is part of a broader effort to modernize traffic management, enhance compliance, and introduce technology-driven solutions for road safety.

DIG Tariq Dharejo confirmed that 72 surveillance cameras will be installed along critical routes, including Autobahn Road, Jamshoro Road, Wadhu Wah Road, and parts of Qasimabad. These cameras are designed to automatically detect traffic violations, reducing the need for manual monitoring and minimizing human error. Alongside the surveillance infrastructure, three new traffic signals will be added at key intersections to improve traffic flow and strengthen enforcement efficiency.

Authorities emphasized that the e-challan system aims to bring transparency to policing while promoting safer driving habits. By integrating automated monitoring and data-driven enforcement, officials expect to reduce traffic violations and ensure compliance with road safety regulations. The technology also enables real-time tracking of infractions, allowing for quicker follow-up and better coordination between traffic authorities.

The rollout in Hyderabad reflects Sindh’s commitment to adopting smart city solutions in public safety and urban management. Officials believe that combining surveillance technology with upgraded traffic signals will create a more structured and efficient transport network, ultimately benefiting both commuters and law enforcement. As the system expands, authorities plan to monitor results closely, make adjustments where necessary, and extend digital enforcement to additional areas, further strengthening Hyderabad’s road safety infrastructure.
