Farazur Rehman, Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Business Group (PBGO) and former president of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), has called on the government to prioritize the needs of freelancers and the IT sector.
Rehman emphasized the significant contribution of Pakistan’s freelance community to the national economy. He highlighted the growing number of young and talented individuals who are making a mark in the global digital marketplace, particularly in fields like automation, artificial intelligence, and other cutting-edge technologies.
However, Rehman expressed concerns over the challenges faced by freelancers due to frequent internet outages and unreliable connectivity. He stressed the importance of addressing these issues to ensure the continued growth of the sector.
“Unstable internet connectivity is a major hindrance to the productivity of our freelancers,” Rehman said. “It is crucial for the government to take immediate steps to improve internet infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted service.”
By prioritizing the needs of freelancers and the IT sector, the government can unlock the full potential of this dynamic industry and position Pakistan as a leading player in the global digital economy.
