The Aga Khan Agency for Habitat Pakistan (AKAHP) and Accelerate Prosperity Pakistan have joined forces to promote sustainable construction practices in the Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral regions. This partnership aims to empower local entrepreneurs and businesses by providing them with the necessary tools and support to adopt green building methods.

The collaboration will focus on providing tailored support, including expert-led advisory services, technical assistance, and patient debt financing. By promoting the use of locally sourced, low-carbon construction materials, the program aims to reduce the environmental impact of the built environment in these regions.

The partnership between AKAHP and Accelerate Prosperity brings together complementary expertise to address the challenges and opportunities in the green building sector. By combining AKAHP’s deep understanding of the region’s specific needs and Accelerate Prosperity’s focus on supporting early-stage businesses, the collaboration is expected to have a significant impact on the development of sustainable infrastructure.

The initiative aligns with global efforts to promote sustainable development and mitigate climate change. By adopting green building practices, the Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral regions can reduce their carbon footprint, conserve resources, and improve the quality of life for their residents.

Through this partnership, AKAHP and Accelerate Prosperity are working towards a future where sustainable construction is the norm, not the exception. By empowering local entrepreneurs and businesses, they are contributing to the development of a greener and more resilient future for the region.

CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come. CWPK is part of the SPIN/IDG Wakhan media umbrella.
