In a groundbreaking move, Pakistan’s prominent ICT services provider, PTCL Group, which comprises PTCL & Ufone 4G, has joined hands with the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSMA) to co-host a significant workshop named the “Connected Women Strategy Workshop.” The event was designed with a core focus on addressing the gender disparity in mobile usage across Pakistan, drawing insights from the authoritative Mobile Gender Gap 2023 report.

During the workshop, the profound expertise of GSMA in understanding mobile technology usage among micro-entrepreneurs played a pivotal role in guiding the PTCL Group team. Through collaborative efforts, strategic pathways were identified to unlock the transformative potential of mobile technology. This newly gained understanding paved the way for the development of innovative approaches tailored specifically to empower women micro-entrepreneurs. These approaches aim to foster their growth, inclusivity, and economic empowerment by leveraging the effective utilization of mobile technology.

Sajid Munir, Group VP Commercial Strategy, PTCL & Ufone 4G, emphasized the unwavering commitment to enhancing connectivity for women across Pakistan. He highlighted the shared mission with GSMA to ensure that women from all corners of the nation can fully embrace the untapped potential of digital platforms.

The PTCL Group is resolute in its pursuit of an inclusive digital future, striving to bridge the gender gap and empower women economically. Through their partnership with GSMA, they are dedicated to ensuring equal opportunities for all, promoting success in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

This collaborative endeavor signifies a significant stride towards achieving gender parity in mobile usage, fostering positive change for a more inclusive and empowered society in Pakistan.
