PTA, MCMC Ink Cooperation Pact at MWC 2024

During the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, Spain, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) signed a Letter of Cooperation at the Malaysia Pavilion.

Expressing enthusiasm for the collaboration, MCMC Chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Salim bin Fateh Din highlighted the strategic alignment of goals between the two organizations, foreseeing mutual benefits for both nations.

PTA Chairman Maj Gen (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman emphasized the significance of cooperation in advancing the telecommunications sector. He stated, “Our collaboration with MCMC signifies a strategic alliance to promote the growth of ICTs in both Pakistan and Malaysia.”

The cooperation between PTA and MCMC will encompass various areas, including digital connectivity, fixed broadband services, satellite-based telecommunication services, network security, Internet governance, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT).

This collaborative effort is expected to drive innovation, economic growth, and enhanced connectivity in both Pakistan and Malaysia.
