Pakistan Software Export Board has completed the Lahore cohort of its nationwide Soft Skills Training initiative, bringing together 49 information technology professionals from six technology companies for an intensive six-day programme focused on the workplace competencies that distinguish technically capable professionals from effective industry leaders. Held from May 8 to 17, 2026, at Datics AI in DHA Phase 1, Lahore, the cohort drew participants from Datics AI, Metaviz, Septem Systems, Stack 360, GNS Solutions, and DuoLabz, creating a cross-company learning environment that reflected the diversity of Lahore’s growing technology sector.
The programme’s curriculum was structured around five core competency areas that Pakistan Software Export Board has identified as increasingly essential for career progression within the global technology industry: communication, leadership, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and strategic problem-solving. Rather than delivering instruction through conventional lecture-based formats, the cohort was designed around interactive sessions, practical exercises, and collaborative activities that placed participants in situations requiring them to apply these skills in real time rather than simply absorbing them theoretically. Participants worked through scenarios covering how to lead conversations with confidence, navigate workplace challenges constructively, and build the kind of professional relationships that translate into stronger team performance and better organisational outcomes over the long term.
A central theme running through the Lahore cohort was the recognition that technical expertise, while essential, is no longer a sufficient differentiator for professionals seeking to advance in a globally competitive technology industry. Pakistan Software Export Board’s programme is built on the premise that the ability to communicate clearly, lead teams through complexity, and think strategically about problems is what ultimately separates skilled practitioners from those who go on to shape organisations and industries. The Lahore cohort is part of Pakistan Software Export Board’s broader effort, supported by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, to build a generation of technology professionals whose capabilities extend well beyond their domain knowledge, ensuring that Pakistan’s information technology workforce is equipped to compete not just on technical merit but on the full range of qualities that global clients, employers, and investors look for when assessing the maturity and reliability of a country’s technology talent base.
