Punjab Information Technology Board organised a two-day information technology training programme for Divisional Superintendents of Police under Training from Balochistan Police, aimed at familiarising them with the suite of information and communication technology interventions that the Punjab government has deployed in the field of law and order. The programme formed part of the Development Phase of the Third Specialised Training Course for probationary officers at Islamabad, reflecting a broader national effort to align policing capabilities across provinces through knowledge sharing and technology transfer.

The training sessions were led by PITB Additional Director General Syed Qasim Ifzal, Director Judiciary Jamal Ahmad, and Joint Director Rai Rashid, who delivered detailed briefings on key smart policing technology interventions being implemented across Punjab. These included real-world artificial intelligence solutions spanning facial recognition and fusion centre intelligence capabilities, as well as the Integrated Criminal Justice System, which digitally connects various components of the justice chain to improve coordination and case management. Participants were also taken through a comprehensive set of hands-on modules covering digital tools for police operations, mobile application design using Figma, smart surveillance and predictive analytics, neural network applications within the oil ecosystem, traffic law enforcement tools, and the use of Notebook Language Model artificial intelligence assistants for day-to-day police functions.

The two-day programme concluded with a formal ceremony in which shields and certificates were distributed to the participating officers by PITB Additional Director General Atif Hussain, recognising their completion of the training. The initiative reflects Punjab Information Technology Board’s growing role not just as a technology implementer for Punjab’s own governance needs, but as a knowledge resource for other provincial governments and law enforcement agencies seeking to modernise their operational capabilities through digital tools and artificial intelligence-driven solutions.
