PASHA (Pakistan IT Industry Association) Chairman Sajjad Syed travelled to Boston on March 29, 2026, for a meeting with Ed Markey, United States Senator, in a move that reflects the association’s ongoing effort to elevate Pakistan’s technology sector on the global stage. The meeting centred on identifying avenues for international exposure and collaboration for Pakistan’s growing technology industry, with both sides discussing how to strengthen ties between the Pakistani tech ecosystem and influential stakeholders in the United States.

According to PASHA, the discussion highlighted the role of global partnerships, participation in international events, and strategies to showcase Pakistan’s innovation and technology capabilities to a wider international audience. The conversation touched on how Pakistani IT companies, startups, and entrepreneurs can gain greater visibility in global markets, and how structured engagement with US policymakers and business leaders can open doors to investment, collaboration, and export opportunities for the sector. With Pakistan’s technology exports continuing to grow and the government pushing the Tech Destination Pakistan narrative, such high-level diplomatic engagements are becoming an increasingly important part of the industry’s international outreach strategy.

The meeting with Senator Markey reinforces PASHA’s commitment to building the international connections that Pakistan’s technology industry needs to compete and grow at a global scale. As the country works to position itself as a credible hub for software development, digital services, and IT-enabled exports, engagements of this nature with senior United States legislators carry both symbolic and practical weight, signalling to the global technology community that Pakistan is actively seeking partnerships and ready to engage at the highest levels of international business and policy dialogue.
