Pakistan made a significant impact at the Web Summit 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal, showcasing its thriving IT industry to a global audience. The Pakistan National Stall, jointly established by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Pakistan Embassy in Lisbon, was a major attraction at the event.

Twelve Pakistani IT companies participated in the official stall, exploring business opportunities and forging connections with diverse corporations, investors, startups, and government agencies from around the world. This was a fantastic chance for Pakistan’s IT sector to demonstrate its exceptional talent and innovative solutions.

Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Khalid Ejaz visited the Pakistan National Stall on November 12, 2024, and interacted with the representatives of the Pakistani IT companies. He briefed them on the opportunities for IT companies in the Portuguese market and offered support of the Embassy in future options for collaboration.

Meanwhile, Director Business Development & Partnerships at PSEB, Mr. Shahbaz Hameed, connected with Web Summit officials Karena Walshe and Denise Brennan, discussing further collaborations and how to increase Pakistan’s presence globally with the help of Web Summit network.

Pakistan’s successful participation in the Web Summit 2024 underscores its rapid growth in the global technology sector. With the steadfast support of the Ministry of IT and Telecom, Pakistan continues to solidify its position as a key player in the industry, fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
