Pakistan made a powerful impact at LEAP 2025, the world’s largest technology event, with its biggest-ever international participation. Over 100 leading IT companies and more than 1,000 delegates represented Pakistan’s growing digital economy, showcasing cutting-edge innovations in AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, fintech, and digital transformation. The event opened with the Pak-Saudi Business Forum, attended by over 400 industry leaders, investors, and policymakers from both countries. The forum set the stage for deepening collaboration in technology, digital economy, and investment opportunities. Pakistan’s delegation emphasized the country’s strong IT potential and highlighted ongoing initiatives to strengthen global partnerships.

The Pakistan Pavilion, officially inaugurated on the first day by Minister of State for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja, featured prominent tech companies and innovative startups. She was joined by H.E. Deema AlYahya, Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Secretary IT Zarrar Hasham, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia H.E. Ahmad Farooq, PSEB CEO Abu Bakar, and PASHA Chairman Sajjad Syed. The pavilion served as a gateway for international investors and companies to explore Pakistan’s thriving IT landscape and identify business opportunities in the sector.

Throughout the four-day event, Pakistani IT firms engaged in high-level discussions with Saudi tech giants, global IT firms, and key government representatives. The outcome was the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and business contracts, further cementing Pakistan’s presence in the global technology market. These agreements are expected to accelerate foreign investment, open new business channels, and boost digital exports.

Pakistan also had a strong representation on LEAP’s main stage. Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja participated in a high-profile panel discussion on digital transformation and international tech partnerships, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to innovation-led economic growth. Additionally, PSEB CEO Abu Bakar delivered an insightful session on empowering startups through global collaboration, focusing on Pakistan’s efforts to create a strong tech startup ecosystem. Reflecting on the success of Pakistan’s participation, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja stated:

“LEAP 2025 has been an incredible platform to showcase Pakistan’s digital capabilities to the world. Our tech sector is thriving, and the partnerships formed here will accelerate our journey towards a more connected, innovative, and technology-driven Pakistan.”

PSEB CEO Abu Bakar highlighted the importance of international partnerships, saying:

“Pakistan’s IT industry is at a turning point, and global engagements like LEAP 2025 provide invaluable opportunities for growth. The partnerships and MoUs signed here will create new avenues for investment and business expansion.”

PASHA Chairman Sajjad Syed emphasized the significance of Pakistan’s growing IT sector, stating:

“Pakistan’s presence at LEAP 2025 reflects the strength and potential of our IT ecosystem. We have demonstrated that Pakistan is a key player in the global tech landscape.”

Pakistan’s participation at LEAP 2025 was a strategic step in positioning itself as a global tech hub, aligning with the government’s vision for Digital Pakistan. The country’s IT industry is witnessing rapid growth, with record-high tech exports, increased foreign investments, and a booming startup ecosystem. As Pakistan continues to expand its digital economy and strengthen global partnerships, its success at LEAP 2025 signals a new era of technological leadership. The event served as a launchpad for future collaborations, innovation-driven business expansion, and a stronger international presence in the digital world.
