Pakistan And UAE Explore Deeper Cooperation In Technology And Advanced Industry

Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja met with H.E. Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE in the fields of technology, innovation, and advanced industry development. The engagement took place under the umbrella of Tech Destination Pakistan, highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to build international partnerships that accelerate digital growth and industrial modernization.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration between public and private sectors to enhance technological capabilities and support sustainable industrial transformation. Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing digitalization initiatives and its growing IT export potential. She noted that Pakistan’s technology sector is becoming a key driver of economic development, with a focus on promoting innovation, investment, and capacity building across industries. The Minister also shared insights into ongoing projects led by MOITT and PSEB that aim to create a globally competitive digital ecosystem and enable cross-border cooperation with key technology partners like the UAE.

H.E. Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi acknowledged Pakistan’s advancements in technology and innovation and expressed the UAE’s interest in exploring new areas of partnership. He stressed the value of bilateral cooperation in developing advanced manufacturing processes, research collaboration, and technology-driven industry reforms. Both sides discussed the potential for joint initiatives in artificial intelligence, smart industry applications, and skills development programs to prepare future workforces for emerging technologies. This exchange highlighted a shared vision of using innovation as a cornerstone for progress and economic resilience.

The meeting further reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to continue dialogue and collaboration to drive growth through digital and industrial innovation. It reflected Pakistan’s broader strategic approach under Tech Destination Pakistan, which aims to enhance its engagement with global stakeholders, attract foreign investment, and strengthen international partnerships in technology and knowledge exchange. By engaging with the UAE’s Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, Pakistan continues to showcase its readiness to contribute to a future defined by digital transformation and advanced industrial cooperation, paving the way for sustained economic growth and technological excellence across both nations.
