OnePlus Ace 7 Leak Points To Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 And Built-In Active Cooling Fan

OnePlus has only recently expanded its Ace 6 lineup with the launch of the Ace 6 Ultra in China, but early details about the next-generation Ace 7 series have already begun surfacing through leaks on Chinese social media platform Weibo, hinting at what could be a notable step forward for the lineup in terms of both processing power and thermal management.

According to a tipster on Weibo, the OnePlus Ace 7 is being tested with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship mobile processor. More notably, the same source claims that OnePlus is also testing the device with a built-in active cooling fan, a feature that would mark a first for the entire Ace series if it makes it to the final production unit. The significance of this detail becomes clearer when set against the Ace 6 Ultra, which despite being the top model in the current lineup does not include any built-in active cooling and instead relies on an external cooling accessory for users who require enhanced thermal performance during intensive tasks such as gaming. An internal active cooling system would give the Ace 7 a meaningful hardware advantage by managing heat more effectively without requiring users to attach any additional peripheral, which has historically been a friction point for gaming-focused smartphones that depend on clip-on fans.

The OnePlus Ace series has generally positioned itself as a performance-oriented lineup aimed at users who want flagship-adjacent specifications at a more accessible price point, with gaming being a key use case. The addition of internal active cooling would reinforce that positioning and bring the Ace 7 closer in feature set to dedicated gaming smartphones from brands such as Asus and Nubia. That said, the leak originates from an early testing phase, and there is no certainty that the cooling fan will be retained in the device that eventually reaches consumers. The OnePlus Ace 7 series is expected to be several months away from an official launch, with the current Ace 6 having been unveiled in October last year, suggesting a similar release window is likely for the Ace 7 later in 2026.
