Pakistan has introduced a new online Ziyarat booking system to simplify travel arrangements for pilgrims visiting the holy sites in Iran and Iraq. The digital platform is designed to modernize the registration process by allowing applicants to complete bookings online, reducing paperwork and making pilgrimage management more efficient. The initiative reflects the government’s broader push to digitize public services and improve accessibility through technology.

The online system enables pilgrims to register, submit required information and manage their travel applications through a centralized digital platform. By replacing many manual procedures with an online process, the portal aims to improve transparency, speed up application handling and provide a more convenient experience for thousands of pilgrims traveling each year. The move is also expected to enhance coordination between authorities, tour operators and pilgrims while minimizing administrative delays.

The launch forms part of Pakistan’s wider digital transformation efforts, where government services are increasingly being shifted to online platforms to improve efficiency and public service delivery. Digital solutions have been introduced across multiple sectors in recent years, enabling citizens to access essential services more easily while reducing dependence on physical documentation and in-person visits.

Officials expect the new Ziyarat booking system to make religious travel more organized and accessible while strengthening oversight of pilgrimage arrangements. As digital public services continue to expand, initiatives such as this demonstrate how technology can improve citizen experiences by delivering faster, more transparent and user-friendly government services.
