A delegation from the Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association, led by Chairman Annas Raheel, along with Secretary General Usman Ismail Butt and LPDI Project Manager Rana Amjad Hussain, met with National Vocational and Technical Training Commission Chairman Engineer Qamar ul Islam Raja at the commission’s headquarters to discuss the ongoing industrial led training program for the gloves manufacturing sector. NAVTTC Executive Director Muhammad Aamir Jan also attended the meeting.

During the discussion, the delegation briefed the NAVTTC Chairman on the progress of the existing collaboration between NAVTTC and PGMEA, which has been running specialized training at the Leather Products Development Institute. Under the program, 300 trainees are currently receiving instruction in CAD/CAM gloves pattern making, gloves stitching, and leather gloves pattern making, combining traditional manufacturing skills with computer aided design and manufacturing techniques relevant to the modern gloves production process.

Chairman NAVTTC acknowledged the work done by both PGMEA and the Leather Products Development Institute in successfully implementing the training project, noting the practical value of combining industry expertise with structured vocational instruction. Executive Director Muhammad Aamir Jan also commented on the progress made so far, reflecting a shared view among officials that the collaboration has met its intended training objectives during its current phase.

The meeting concluded with discussions on the next phase of gloves industry training, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to continuing the partnership under the Chairman’s leadership. The continued collaboration between NAVTTC and PGMEA reflects a broader pattern of industry specific vocational training programs in Pakistan, where specialized technical institutes work directly with trade associations to build a workforce equipped with skills tailored to particular manufacturing sectors, in this case combining computer aided design capabilities with traditional leather and textile production techniques.
