The Pakistan Digital Authority hosted Tabadlab Chief Executive Officer Umar Nadeem at its headquarters to discuss expanding an ongoing collaboration between the two organizations, with the meeting chaired by Pakistan Digital Authority Chairperson Dr. Sohail Munir. The session was also attended by PDA Member Aamer Rana, Chief Digital Public Infrastructure Officer Dr. Sahibzada Ali Mahmud, and Chief of Staff Sophia Hasnain.

Building on earlier engagement between the two sides, discussions centered on where policy advisory work, research and institutional capacity building could support Pakistan’s broader Digital Public Infrastructure agenda. Participants placed particular emphasis on the importance of building trusted digital ecosystems, ensuring secure data exchange between systems, improving interoperability across platforms, and continuing to develop citizen centered digital public services as the foundation of the country’s digital transformation efforts.

The discussion also touched on applying policy and governance frameworks across sectors where the need for stronger digital infrastructure is considered most pressing, including education, health, social protection, climate resilience and food systems. Tabadlab shared its expertise in public policy, governance reform, strategic communications and implementation planning, areas that officials indicated could complement the authority’s own technical and institutional work on Digital Public Infrastructure development.

Both organizations also discussed potential opportunities for Pakistan to contribute to regional and global efforts around Digital Public Infrastructure, reflecting a broader interest in positioning the country’s digital governance work within a wider international context. The meeting reflects the Pakistan Digital Authority’s continued approach of engaging with policy focused organizations to strengthen the institutional and research foundations underpinning its technical infrastructure projects, with officials describing this kind of collaboration as a necessary complement to the technical development work already underway across the country’s digital public service initiatives.
