Continuing its efforts to promote cybersecurity awareness among young students, National CERT successfully conducted the second session of its “Cyber Care for Children” (CCC) program at Beaconhouse School System, Potohar Campus, Islamabad. The initiative, a key component of National CERT’s Cybersecurity Capacity Building Program, aims to educate students, teachers, and parents on cyber threats, preventive measures, and child online protection best practices.

The session was led by Imran Haider, Manager Trainings at National CERT, who provided an insightful and interactive presentation on the importance of online safety for children. His talk emphasized the rising threats of cyberbullying, online predators, phishing scams, and data privacy risks, equipping students with practical strategies to safeguard themselves in an increasingly digital world. Through engaging discussions and real-life examples, Haider highlighted the importance of responsible internet use and the dangers of sharing personal information online.

Students actively participated in the session, sharing their own experiences and seeking guidance on navigating digital platforms securely. The initiative also emphasized the role of educators and parents in creating a safe digital environment for children. National CERT’s approach ensures that cybersecurity awareness is not just limited to students but extends to the broader school community, fostering a culture of digital resilience.

The Cyber Care for Children (CCC) program is specifically designed for middle and high school students, with a focus on helping them develop critical thinking skills when engaging online. The initiative is part of Pakistan’s broader digital security strategy, aiming to address emerging threats and equip the younger generation with the necessary knowledge to detect and prevent cyber risks.

National CERT plans to expand the CCC initiative to more schools and colleges across Pakistan, ensuring that cybersecurity education becomes a fundamental aspect of digital literacy for students. As technology continues to evolve, fostering a proactive approach toward cyber hygiene and security awareness remains crucial in safeguarding young internet users from online threats.

With increasing digital dependence, programs like Cyber Care for Children serve as essential educational tools, helping students and their guardians navigate the complexities of online security. By reinforcing safe online practices and encouraging vigilance, National CERT remains committed to strengthening Pakistan’s cybersecurity ecosystem and protecting the next generation from digital risks.
