The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has advertised two senior positions under the National Artificial Intelligence Advancement Initiative, inviting applications for a Director in the Human Resource Development and Skills track at Pay Package Scale 10 and a Joint Director in the Seed and Funding track at Pay Package Scale 09, with a deadline of May 17, 2026 for both roles. The openings signal that the government is actively building the institutional capacity required to execute its artificial intelligence agenda at the policy and program implementation level, moving beyond announcements into staffing the structures that will carry the work forward.
The Director position for Human Resource Development and Skills requires a Master’s degree with 16 years of education or higher in fields including Education, Human Resource Development, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, or a related discipline from a Higher Education Commission-recognized university. Candidates must have a minimum of eight years of relevant experience, with at least three to five years spent in a leadership or managerial role in skills development, human resource development, digital literacy programs, or sector development projects, and applicants must be no older than 50 years at the time of application. The Joint Director position for Seed and Funding requires a Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Public Policy, or a related field from a Higher Education Commission-recognized institution, with a minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience including at least two years in a coordination or mid-management role covering startup funding, grants management, innovation finance, or related areas, with a maximum age of 45 years.
The two roles reflect the twin priorities of the National Artificial Intelligence Advancement Initiative as the government has articulated them: building Pakistan’s human capital in artificial intelligence through structured skills development programs on one hand, and creating the funding and seed capital infrastructure needed to support artificial intelligence-driven startups and innovation on the other. Together, the positions point toward an initiative that is designed to operate across both the supply side of talent development and the demand side of investment facilitation, addressing two of the most frequently cited gaps in Pakistan’s artificial intelligence ecosystem simultaneously. Interested candidates can apply through the National Jobs Portal at www.njp.gov.pk before the May 17, 2026 deadline.
