KPITB Launches Digital Initiatives for Economic Growth

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has launched a series of ambitious initiatives aimed at transforming the province into a digital powerhouse. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, these programs focus on enhancing digital skills, fostering innovation, and creating job opportunities.

Key among these initiatives is the Digital Internship Program, which offers 200 internships to young graduates in IT companies located in Peshawar and Abbottabad. The program aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing practical experience and boosting employability.

Another significant initiative is the Join IT online portal, which connects skilled individuals with IT companies seeking technical expertise. This platform simplifies the hiring process and creates opportunities for local talent.

In collaboration with Google Tech Valley, the KPITB has also launched Digital Skills Scholarships for 5,000 youth. These scholarships will equip individuals with in-demand digital skills, enabling them to contribute to the province’s economic growth.

The Durshal business incubation center has welcomed a new cohort of 20 startups, demonstrating the province’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship. Since its inception, Durshal has incubated 173 startups, creating over 1,600 jobs and generating substantial revenue.

The Government Innovation Fellowship Program is another important initiative that aims to drive innovation within the public sector. By onboarding fellows to work on government challenges, the program seeks to improve service delivery and streamline processes.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur emphasized the government’s commitment to transforming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a digital hub. He stated that these initiatives will not only empower the youth but also create a conducive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
