The Usman Institute of Technology recently won 23 projects in the Ignite startup competition.

The 23 projects were chosen from 70 different departments at UIT by the National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative (NGIRI). The selected students behind these projects have received more than Rs. 1 million in funding.

This program’s goal is to help students construct prototypes for their Final Year Projects (FYP) while also encouraging creativity, innovation, and hands-on engineering. Such programmes are a surefire way to help students create their own enterprises while also benefiting the country.

Through the application of the lates, Ignite hopes to improve the industry.

CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come.
