The Higher Education Commission Pakistan, in collaboration with Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences, has announced the launch of a Talent Hunt Programme aimed at identifying and supporting high potential students in science disciplines. The initiative focuses on preparing Pakistani youth for participation in the International Science Olympiad through structured training and academic development.
The programme offers fully funded training and international participation opportunities for selected students, providing them with access to advanced learning resources and mentorship. In addition to academic preparation, participants will also receive financial support, including scholarships and cash prizes, as part of efforts to encourage excellence in science education. The initiative also facilitates admission into PIEAS without an entrance test for selected candidates, along with fee waivers and monthly stipends to support continued studies.
Open to students from Pre 9th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grades, including O Level and FSc Part I backgrounds, the programme targets individuals with strong academic performance in science subjects. Eligible students are required to have secured at least 60 percent marks in relevant disciplines, ensuring a merit based selection process aligned with international standards.
The announcement reflects HEC’s continued focus on strengthening STEM education in Pakistan by creating pathways for talented students to compete at global levels. By combining financial support, academic training, and international exposure, the programme aims to build a pipeline of skilled individuals capable of representing Pakistan in global scientific competitions while contributing to the country’s broader knowledge economy.
