ISLAMABAD (APP) – Google Empowers Women Developers in Pakistan with Women Techmakers Sessions

Google recently hosted a series of Women Techmakers sessions in Pakistan, providing training to over 800 women developers. These events, held as part of International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrations, covered various important topics such as online safety, coding, presentation skills, and more.

Embracing this year’s IWD theme of #ProgressNotPerfection, Google’s Women Techmakers sessions featured inspiring female speakers who shared their stories of overcoming obstacles in their lives and careers. The events also included networking opportunities, allowing women participants to connect with industry professionals and explore new avenues.

Farhan S. Qureshi, Google Regional Director for Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, emphasized Google’s commitment to recognizing women’s achievements in technology and inspiring more women to pursue careers in tech. The Women Techmakers ambassadors played a significant role in organizing these impactful programs, fostering a supportive environment for women developers in Pakistan.

Hira Tariq, a WTM Ambassador in Karachi, highlighted the positive impact of the Women Techmakers sessions, energizing women’s communities and boosting confidence in overcoming challenges. The focus on #ProgressNotPerfection helped convey the message that it is acceptable for women to encounter setbacks and celebrate incremental successes within the women’s community.

Since 2013, Google has organized numerous Women Techmakers events worldwide, spanning over 75 countries, with the aim of building a tech industry where all women can thrive. These events provide visibility, community support, and valuable resources to empower women in tech
