Google has made a significant announcement by offering 15,000 annual scholarships worth $3.5 million, aiming to revolutionize Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) industry.

Senator Dr. Afnan Ullah Khan, a member of the Senate’s Standing Committee on IT, revealed the tech giant’s plan to invest $3.5 million in Pakistan. In addition to this, the sale of a 5G license is expected to generate substantial foreign exchange and foster venture capital investment in the private sector. Senator Khan believes that with proper planning, Pakistan’s IT exports can easily reach $10 billion in the coming years.

Another remarkable development highlighted by Senator Khan is South Korea’s intention to extend a $1 billion loan to Pakistan’s IT sector at an incredibly low interest rate of 0.1 percent. This presents a valuable opportunity for further growth and collaboration.

Pakistan has vast potential in various areas of the IT industry and is poised to become a prominent IT power in the region. Senator Khan expressed his dedication to revolutionizing the country’s IT sector both at the government level and on a personal level. With his background, holding a Ph.D. in IT from Oxford University and experience in completing multimillion-dollar IT projects, he aims to leverage his expertise for the benefit of the nation.

Furthermore, Senator Khan revealed an ongoing project that involves the export of human resources to Japan, further emphasizing the government’s commitment to expanding the IT sector and removing obstacles to foreign investment.

The future looks promising for Pakistan’s IT industry, with Google’s significant investment and Senator Khan’s determination to propel its growth. These initiatives have the potential to reshape the landscape of Pakistan’s IT sector and position it as a global player in the field.
