Disrupt has announced the appointment of Dr. Jonathan Doerr as its new Senior Vice President of Venture Building, marking a significant addition to the leadership team. Known for his ability to shape startup ecosystems and scale ventures across multiple regions, Doerr brings a track record that spans founding, operating, and investing in high-growth companies.

Doerr co-founded Antler MENAP, a regional branch of the global early-stage venture capital firm Antler, supporting founders from idea to scale. His operational experience includes co-leading Daraz to an acquisition by Alibaba Group, where he played a key role in expanding the e-commerce platform across South Asia. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Jumia Group, overseeing growth across African markets. In healthtech, he founded Smileneo, a direct-to-consumer orthodontics platform that he successfully exited.

At Disrupt, Doerr will focus on accelerating the company’s AI-native venture engine—a system designed to rapidly launch, scale, and grow startups by combining protocol-led processes with hands-on operational expertise. The goal is to provide founders with an “unfair advantage” in execution speed, scalability, and market entry.

The company views this appointment as more than a leadership hire; it signals a strategic shift toward bigger, faster, and sharper execution in its mission to back and build the next generation of AI-driven ventures. Disrupt believes that pairing Doerr’s proven playbook with its venture-building framework will significantly enhance its ability to deliver impactful outcomes for founders.

With the addition of Doerr to its leadership team, Disrupt is positioning itself to take a more aggressive approach in shaping the AI startup landscape, leveraging both global best practices and local market expertise. The appointment underlines the company’s ambition to operate at the cutting edge of venture creation, ensuring startups not only launch but achieve sustainable growth at scale.
