The Inland Revenue Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has introduced two new digital platforms aimed at strengthening communication between taxpayers and the department while improving efficiency in revenue administration. The newly launched AJK Tax Asaan Mobile App and BI Revenue Collection IT Dashboard are designed to provide a secure and user friendly environment for tax related services. The launch ceremony was held in Muzaffarabad, where AJK Minister for Inland Revenue and Finance Chaudhry Qasim Majeed formally inaugurated the systems, marking another step in the region’s broader digital governance agenda. Officials described the initiative as part of ongoing efforts to modernise public sector service delivery through technology driven solutions.

During the event, a detailed demonstration of both the AJK Tax Asaan Mobile App and the BI Revenue Collection IT Dashboard was presented to participants. Authorities highlighted that the new platforms build on the successful rollout of the AJK Point of Sale Invoicing System, which has already contributed to improved documentation and monitoring of transactions. By integrating advanced digital modules with existing systems, the Inland Revenue Department aims to further enhance transparency, streamline workflows, and reduce manual intervention in revenue collection processes. Officials noted that these digital tools will support real time data visibility and informed decision making for the department, while also simplifying compliance procedures for taxpayers across the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed stated that the primary objective of the new digital platforms is to provide taxpayers with an integrated, secure, and accessible system that can be used with ease. He explained that the AJK Tax Asaan Mobile App allows users to verify invoices generated under the POS Invoicing System, ensuring authenticity and reducing the risk of discrepancies. Through the application, registered taxpayers can also view their registration profiles, access return related information, and stay informed about their tax obligations without visiting tax offices. The minister emphasised that mobile based access is intended to save time and improve convenience, particularly for small businesses and individual taxpayers operating in remote areas.

The app also enables online tax payments and provides tools for tracking the status of cases or applications submitted to the department. In addition, users can manage various online modules and services linked to the AJ and K IRIS system directly from their mobile devices. Officials said that this integration allows taxpayers to interact with multiple services through a single digital interface, reducing fragmentation and improving overall user experience. Meanwhile, the BI Revenue Collection IT Dashboard is designed to support internal operations by offering analytical insights into revenue trends, compliance levels, and system performance. The dashboard enables officials to monitor collections more effectively and respond promptly to emerging issues, contributing to improved governance and accountability.

According to the Inland Revenue Department, the launch of these digital systems reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for public service reform. By combining mobile accessibility with data driven oversight, the department aims to strengthen trust between taxpayers and authorities while promoting voluntary compliance. The initiative also aligns with broader Digital Pakistan objectives, focusing on transparency, efficiency, and citizen centric service delivery. Officials expressed confidence that the AJK Tax Asaan Mobile App and BI Revenue Collection IT Dashboard will play a key role in modernising tax administration in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and supporting sustainable revenue growth without increasing the compliance burden on citizens.
