Tech Valley has recognized the University of Sargodha for achieving 100 percent enrollment in the Google Career Certificates (GCC) program, according to a post by Google Career Certificates Pakistan on LinkedIn. The post says all 500 students allocated to the university were enrolled, which it presents as a sign of the institution’s commitment to expanding access to industry-relevant skills and career-focused learning. Tech Valley, which describes itself as a digital transformation partner, said it values the role of universities in preparing students for an evolving job market. The post does not say when the enrollments were completed or which courses the students chose.

Tech Valley runs GCC in Pakistan with Google and distributes the scholarships to universities, which are allocated a fixed number of seats and are expected to enroll their students. The post closes with a call to other institutions, asking universities that have reached 100 percent enrollment to complete their allocated enrollments so that Tech Valley can feature them on its social media. That makes the recognition part of how the programme tracks participation, since universities that fill all their seats are publicised and others are encouraged to catch up. The programme gives students flexible online learning that lets them earn industry-recognised credentials within three to six months, without needing a traditional degree.

The programme has grown quickly in Pakistan. According to a Tech Valley pitch deck, GCC reached more than 100 higher education institutions in 2025 and recorded over 160,000 enrolments, with 50,000 course completions and about 40 percent female enrolment, figures that come from Tech Valley and were not independently verified. In July 2026, ARY News reported that Google had added 150,000 new scholarships for Pakistani students this year, bringing the total number of certificates available under the programme to 350,000. The courses cover fields including AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, project management, digital marketing, and e-commerce. The provincial governments have also taken part, with Sindh announcing more than 30,000 scholarships in March 2025, and Punjab announcing 100,000 free certificates for students and faculty under its Year of Youth 2026 initiative.

The post does not say how many of the 500 enrolled students have started or finished their courses, and enrollment alone does not measure learning outcomes. Tech Valley’s own deck puts the overall completion rate at about 50 percent, which suggests that signing up is only the first step. For universities, the more telling figure will be how many students complete certificates and use them to find work, and that number was not part of the announcement. For students at Sargodha, the enrollment gives them access to online courses from Google, though what they gain will depend on how many finish and how well employers recognise the credentials.
