Air Link Communication Limited has signed a significant agreement to bring smart wearable device manufacturing to Pakistan. The company inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IMIKI Corporation, a Chinese technology firm, during a recent visit to China by Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
“This MoU signifies a crucial step forward in solidifying the technological partnership between Pakistan and China,” Air Link stated in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The signing ceremony included prominent Pakistani officials such as the Federal Ministers for Commerce, Industries & Production, and Privatization, along with the Federal Secretary of the Board of Investment.
Air Link, known for importing and distributing IT and communication products, sees this collaboration as a way to pave the path for innovation and technological progress within Pakistan. While specific details about the smart wearables are yet to be revealed, this agreement marks a potential turning point for domestic electronics manufacturing.
