The AI Seekho Hackathon 2026, running under the VibeKaregaPakistan initiative and organised in collaboration with Google, will open registrations on May 4, 2026, inviting developers, students, and innovators across Pakistan to compete for a prize pool of Rs2,500,000 alongside swags and Google-branded merchandise.

The hackathon challenges participants to innovate using Google Antigravity, with the task centred on building a theme-based mobile application. The competition is backed by Google for Developers and integrates Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence capabilities, reflecting the growing emphasis on AI-native application development as the baseline expectation for competitive hackathon entries in Pakistan’s technology community. The prize structure, anchored at Rs2.5 million, makes it one of the more generously funded domestic hackathons announced this year, with the addition of swags and branded items adding further incentive for participation.

Registration links will be shared through the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication’s official WhatsApp channel on May 4, making it the primary channel for applicants to access the sign-up process. Those interested in participating are encouraged to follow the Ministry’s official WhatsApp channel to receive registration details as soon as they go live. The initiative sits within the broader AI Seekho programme, which has been working to build artificial intelligence literacy and hands-on development capacity across Pakistan’s youth population, with the hackathon format being one of the more direct ways the programme translates awareness into applied skills.

Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come.
