FAST-NUCES Karachi Campus hosted an interactive session in collaboration with K-Electric on October 26, 2026, with the aim of promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education and encouraging female students to explore career opportunities in these fields. The session brought together students, faculty members, and industry professionals on campus for a discussion focused on how young women can build meaningful careers in sectors that have traditionally seen lower female participation, particularly energy and engineering.

K-Electric was represented by Naushaba Majid, Assistant Manager, and Esha Anwer, Assistant Manager Performance, who shared their professional experiences and offered insights into career development and the opportunities available to women in the energy and engineering sectors. Their accounts gave students a first hand view of how professional paths unfold within a large utility organisation, including the practical challenges that women encounter in technical roles and the ways in which those challenges can be navigated through preparation, mentorship, and persistence.

The session was attended by Dr Zulfiqar Memon, Director of the Karachi Campus and Professor of Computer Science, Dr Muhammad Junaid Rabbani, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Dr Muhammad Burhan Khan, Professor of Electrical Engineering. Female faculty members Dr Sadaf Ayesha and Ms Quratulain were also present, while Internship Coordinator Mr Sheraz Khan served as the focal person for coordinating the event. The presence of senior academic leadership alongside female faculty members reinforced the message that the institution actively supports women who choose to study and work in technical disciplines.

The session offered female students valuable insights into industry practices, professional challenges, and career pathways in the energy and engineering sectors, and it highlighted the commitment of the Karachi Campus to strengthening collaboration between industry and academia. By connecting students directly with working professionals, FAST-NUCES aims to inspire its female students to pursue professional growth and leadership in technical fields, while also helping them understand what employers expect as they prepare for internships and their first roles after graduation.
