The forthcoming film ‘Rafi – The Untold Story’ is all set to bring together the dynamic duo of Affan Waheed and Sonya Hussyn, both acclaimed stars in the realm of Pakistani entertainment. Renowned for their exceptional talents and magnetic on-screen chemistry, Waheed and Hussyn are poised to create an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Directed by Kamran Faiq, this highly anticipated real-life drama, based on a true story, is generating buzz among cinema enthusiasts and dedicated fans alike. The film is reported to be a biographical account of the distinguished Pakistani nuclear physicist, Dr. Rafi Muhammad Chaudhry.

In an exclusive conversation with The Express Tribune, Waheed shared insights into the film’s premise, stating, “The film revolves around Dr. Rafi. While I can’t divulge too much, it’s a period piece set in the 1940s. The languages used are Rangri, Urdu, and English. It aims to depict how a Muslim scientist carved his niche in an era of turmoil and uncertainty.”

Born on July 1, 1903, Dr. Rafi was a prominent Pakistani nuclear physicist and a professor of particle physics at Government College University. His teachings and mentorship in modern physics inspired numerous students to pursue careers in the field, solidifying his status as a key figure in experimental nuclear physics research in Pakistan. Alongside Abdus Salam and Ishrat Hussain Usmani, he played a pivotal role in establishing Pakistan’s nuclear weapons research program in the 1970s. Dr. Samar Mubarakmand, one of his pupils, later referred to Chaudhry as “the true father of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program.”

The title of the film, ‘Rafi – The Untold Story,’ hints at a narrative filled with hidden truths that promise to captivate audiences with its emotional depth and gripping storyline. Waheed has already shared captivating posters and glimpses of the film, showcasing his remarkable transformation into the character he portrays, against the backdrop of the pre-partition era.

Hussyn, in sync with Waheed’s excitement, shared his post on her Instagram Story, adding her own note. “Another milestone achieved,” the star penned. “Presenting the first look of my next movie: Rafi – The Untold Story.”

Waheed, known for his exceptional acting skills and versatility, appears to be a natural choice for the role. Hussyn, a powerful force in the industry, is set to elevate the film with her signature brilliance.

Described by IMDb as the “youngest industry professional ever from Pakistan to attend Venice film markets as a producer and has won 5 international film festivals and participated in various international film festivals across Europe and Asia,” director Kamran Faiq’s track record sets high expectations for an engaging cinematic journey.

With the film’s release date yet to be revealed, anticipation is building as fans eagerly await the opportunity to witness the on-screen magic of Waheed and Hussyn in this real-life drama. As excitement continues to mount, audiences are poised to embrace an extraordinary journey into the past, interwoven with emotions, secrets, and revelations.
