Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) has announced an intensive 8-week hands-on training program focused on Machine Learning and Data Science. This initiative, spearheaded by the Rector of GIKI, aims to equip students with high-demand skills in emerging technologies, aligning with global industry trends and the increasing need for expertise in artificial intelligence and data-driven solutions.
The program is specifically designed for third and final-year students from the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE), the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE), and the Faculty of Engineering Sciences (FES). Recognizing the rapid advancements in AI, big data, and predictive analytics, GIKI has taken this step to ensure that its students remain competitive in the job market by gaining practical experience in these fields.
As part of the pilot phase, the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) has launched the program with specialized hands-on courses in Machine Learning and Data Science. The curriculum focuses on real-world applications, including data processing, predictive modeling, AI-driven automation, and algorithmic development. The hands-on approach will allow students to work on industry-relevant projects, preparing them for future careers in technology-driven sectors.
Following the successful implementation of the pilot project, GIKI plans to expand this program across all faculties, ensuring that students from diverse academic backgrounds gain exposure to these transformative technologies. This initiative aligns with GIKI’s broader vision of fostering innovation, research, and technological excellence in Pakistan.
By offering practical training in high-demand fields, GIKI is positioning itself as a leader in technological education, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements. The program is expected to open new career pathways for students, enhance their employability, and contribute to Pakistan’s growing tech ecosystem.
