Punjab Information Technology Board has opened online registration for the auction of attractive vehicle registration numbers through its digital e auction system for the month of March. The platform has been developed in collaboration with Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Punjab to enable citizens to participate in the bidding process using a mobile application and an online web portal. Officials said the system aims to simplify the process of acquiring preferred vehicle registration numbers while ensuring transparency and accessibility through a digital platform.

Citizens can complete their registration online until March 30 and participate in the bidding process from their homes without the need to attend physical auctions. The e auction system includes registration numbers for motorcycles, motor cars and commercial vehicles, allowing interested participants to place bids for their desired numbers through the application or web portal. Authorities noted that the digital system also provides information about successful bidders within the application, which helps maintain transparency and allows the public to view auction outcomes.

Chairman of Punjab Information Technology Board, Faisal Yousaf, said the digital initiative represents a step towards modernizing the traditional vehicle number auction process through technology driven solutions. He stated that the e auction system has been designed to provide citizens with a reliable and efficient online facility that removes the need for physical participation. According to him, the system helps make the process more accessible while also improving transparency and user convenience.

Interested individuals can register through the official e auction mobile application or access the online portal to participate in the bidding process. Officials said the initiative forms part of broader efforts to expand digital government services across the province by introducing technology based systems that simplify administrative procedures and make public services more convenient for citizens.
