In a significant step toward digital transformation and enhanced public services, Zindigi, powered by JS Bank, has entered into a partnership with the Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir to digitize water bill management and collection across the region. The collaboration represents a forward-looking public-private sector initiative, reflecting both institutions’ shared vision of leveraging technology to improve transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in utility services.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Khalid Mirza, Secretary of Physical Planning & Housing, Government of AJK, and Noman Azhar, Chief Officer of Zindigi. Also present were Rao Umer Farooq, Head of International Business; Farhan Akram, Senior Manager of International Business & Alliances; and Arif Qureshi, Bank Manager at JS Bank Muzaffarabad. The event underscored the mutual commitment of the government and Zindigi to foster digital adoption and citizen-centric services.

Under the agreement, Zindigi will implement a comprehensive digital framework for water bill payments, offering real-time transaction tracking and improved reporting mechanisms. The system is designed to enhance accountability, streamline processes, and modernize the existing billing infrastructure. Through the Zindigi Raast QR solution, residents will be able to make instant and seamless payments, while also accessing the service via the Zindigi mobile app or any banking app integrated with Raast, ensuring flexibility and convenience for a wide range of users.

Speaking at the ceremony, Khalid Mirza emphasized the government’s commitment to adopting innovative digital solutions to improve public services and governance. He noted that the initiative represents a major milestone in enhancing operational efficiency and citizen convenience in utility management. Noman Azhar highlighted that the collaboration reflects Zindigi’s ongoing efforts to drive financial inclusion and digital empowerment in AJK. He added that the initiative will simplify payment processes for residents while contributing to the development of a digitally connected and financially inclusive ecosystem across the region.
