The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has successfully conducted a two-day e-procurement training session for representatives of the Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC). This initiative aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in public procurement processes within the province.
The training session, held at the Training Institute in Lahore, provided participants with hands-on experience using the e-Procurement system. The system, developed by PITB, leverages cutting-edge technology to streamline the bidding process, ensuring transparency, security, and efficiency.
By adopting e-procurement, the PVTC will be able to invite bids from a wider pool of vendors, both locally and internationally. This increased competition is expected to lead to lower procurement costs and higher quality goods and services.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasized the importance of technology in modernizing public sector operations. He stated, “The e-Procurement system is a powerful tool that enables secure and convenient online bidding. By empowering institutions like PVTC to adopt innovative solutions, we can enhance operational efficiency and transparency.”
The training session was well-received by the participants, who expressed enthusiasm for the potential benefits of the e-procurement system. As the PVTC implements this system, it is expected to significantly improve its procurement processes and contribute to the overall development of the province.
