Zong has collaborated with the Pakistan Airports Authority to launch a dedicated 5G Customer Facilitation Desk at Jinnah International Airport Karachi, aimed at providing domestic and international travellers with seamless access to SIM activation, high-speed mobile data services, and real-time customer support upon arrival at one of Pakistan’s busiest aviation hubs.

The launch marks the expansion of Zong’s airport facilitation model following its successful deployment at international airports in Islamabad and Lahore, underscoring the company’s commitment to enhancing customer experience through next-generation connectivity solutions while supporting the country’s broader digital transformation agenda. The dedicated facilitation desk will strengthen the airport’s digital ecosystem by ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for passengers. Building on this momentum, Zong plans to further expand its airport presence through kiosk deployments at Peshawar and Multan airports.

For international travellers arriving in Karachi, the availability of a dedicated 5G facilitation desk at the point of entry addresses a longstanding gap in the passenger journey. Visitors who require immediate SIM activation, data connectivity, or assistance with their mobile services have historically had to navigate unfamiliar retail environments outside the airport, a friction that the in-terminal desk directly removes. The desk also serves as a tangible demonstration of Pakistan’s 5G rollout, giving arriving passengers their first interaction with next-generation mobile connectivity in a structured and supported environment managed by trained Zong representatives.

Anas Matloob, Deputy Regional General Manager South at Zong, said Karachi serves as a key gateway for both domestic and international travellers, making seamless connectivity an essential part of the travel experience, and that the initiative enables passengers to access reliable telecom services immediately upon arrival, reinforcing Zong’s commitment to customer convenience, innovation, and service excellence. The Joint Director Commercial at Pakistan Airports Authority Karachi added that the focus remains on enhancing passenger facilitation through modern and efficient services, and that the collaboration with Zong enables improved digital support for travellers contributing to a more seamless, connected, and comfortable airport experience. As part of its broader technology roadmap, Zong continues to advance artificial intelligence-enabled solutions aimed at delivering smarter and more efficient connected travel experiences in line with the Digital Pakistan vision.
