Yango Pakistan has entered into a formal partnership with Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance urban safety for commuters and residents in the capital. The MoU aims to integrate public security features developed by ICTP directly into Yango’s digital platform, making law enforcement tools more accessible to users of its services. This agreement underscores a joint commitment to leveraging technology for safer mobility experiences in Islamabad.

As part of the collaboration, Yango will incorporate ICTP’s Smart ICTP app into the safety widget of the Yango Super App, providing users a direct and real-time link to law enforcement during emergency situations. This integration facilitates faster communication with police services and allows the app to serve as more than just a ride-hailing tool. The Taxi Verification App, also developed by ICTP, is included in this initiative to support quicker identity checks and verification of vehicles, offering an added layer of safety for passengers throughout the capital.

Yango Pakistan’s Country Head, Miral Sharif, emphasized the strategic alignment between both entities, stating that the collaboration represents a shared vision for building safer communities through the use of digital solutions. The partnership focuses on equipping the public with reliable tools that can be used to access police support in real-time, especially while commuting.

To raise awareness and promote usage, both organizations have committed to launching an information campaign aimed at educating citizens on how to effectively use both the Smart ICTP and Taxi Verification apps. These applications are free to download and serve as immediate channels to law enforcement services, allowing users to verify their rides and receive assistance if necessary. This initiative is particularly relevant for urban commuters in Islamabad, where the use of digital ride-hailing services continues to rise.

The MoU was officially signed by SSP Dr. Muhammad Iqbal (PSP) representing ICTP and Mr. Muhammad Jahangir Khan from Yango, solidifying their intent to integrate technology with public safety initiatives. The agreement spans an initial period of one year, with automatic renewal unless otherwise specified by either party. Notably, the collaboration does not involve any financial exchange, emphasizing the focus on public welfare and operational transparency. Both Yango and ICTP have reaffirmed their commitment to ethical practices and a zero-tolerance stance on corruption.

This development reflects Yango’s ongoing efforts to expand its footprint in Pakistan while maintaining a strong focus on responsible mobility and meaningful engagement with local institutions. The initiative is expected to help bridge the gap between digital service providers and civic enforcement bodies by ensuring that technology platforms not only offer convenience but also play an active role in community safety.

By working with ICTP, Yango is contributing to a more secure mobility experience for its users and supporting the broader goal of digital public service integration in Pakistan. This collaboration illustrates how private sector innovation can align with public sector responsibilities to create practical and scalable safety solutions.
