Pakistan’s telecom sector in limelight! The new government which has put in efforts to curb grey telephony is seriously relying on the telecom sector to generate investment activities in the country. As part of their preparation for the spectrum auction, cellular companies are investing in their network infrastructure.

 

Broadband 1 Mbps Economy to 2 Mbps Economy package

The Broadband 2 Mbps Economy Package will allow all existing 1 Mbps Economy Package subscribers to enjoy double data rate speed.  All previous Economy package subscribers with a need for higher DSL speed will undergo an enhanced user experience at a minimal raise in price.

Ufone celebrated its 13th anniversary at Ufone Tower in Islamabad.  The event was attended by the management along with a large number of Ufone employees from the twin cities of Islamabad & Rawalpindi.

Microsoft board close to naming Nadella as new CEO: source

Microsoft Corp is likely to appoint its cloud-computing head, Satya Nadella, as its next chief executive.  Co-founder Bill Gates may step aside as chairman and be replaced by lead independent director John Thompson. Gates would remain a director, the source added.
