The Lahore University of Management Sciences and EnablifyAI have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to formalise a collaboration aimed at strengthening the connection between Artificial Intelligence research and education at LUMS and the practical demands of industry partners operating across Pakistan’s growing digital economy.

Under the agreement, LUMS faculty and researchers will be connected with industry partners through Artificial Intelligence advisory engagements, creating a structured channel for academic expertise to inform real-world technology implementation. The partnership simultaneously opens pathways for graduates of the LUMS Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence programme to contribute directly to Artificial Intelligence-driven innovation across sectors, giving them access to applied industry experience that extends beyond the academic environment and prepares them for leadership roles in technology-intensive organisations. The collaboration is also structured to facilitate applied research projects and industry-embedded work that addresses specific challenges faced by companies integrating Artificial Intelligence into their operations, ensuring that research output is aligned with current industry needs rather than developed in isolation from the market.

The agreement further provides a foundation for future programme development, allowing both institutions to identify and respond to emerging Artificial Intelligence skill requirements as the technology landscape evolves. For LUMS, the memorandum reinforces a strategic direction of deepening engagement between its academic programmes and the industries that will eventually employ its graduates and apply its research. For EnablifyAI, the partnership provides access to a pipeline of trained Artificial Intelligence talent and the advisory depth of a leading research university at a time when demand for credible Artificial Intelligence expertise across Pakistani organisations continues to expand. The collaboration reflects a broader shift in how Pakistani universities and technology firms are approaching Artificial Intelligence development, moving toward structured, institutionalised partnerships rather than informal connections between individual researchers and companies.
