Telecom Revenues Summit Rs. 445.7 bln

The revenues generated by Telecom operators in the country have reached all time high at Rs.445.7 billion during 2012-13, roughly an 8.9 percent up from Rs. 409.2 billion during same duration previous year. This shows the strength and size of the Telecom market despite the economic difficulties and tough competition.

Telcom Defiant Against PTA’s Directives

Despite the directions of PTA country’s Cellular Mobile Operator (CMOs) is charging the consumers with 12 paisa on account of call set-up fee recently imposed by them.
Official sources share that all CMOs are fleecing the consumers with 12-paisa call set up fee, which is the sheer violation of directions issued by PTA on 1st January 2014.

SnapChat Scales Up Security After Hack

Snapchat will add new privacy features after a hack last week that exposed millions of phone numbers and user names from the popular photo- and video-sharing app. The site had been suspended by its Web host but, by Friday, appeared to be back online with phone numbers and user names both partially disguised.

Open Collaboration Likely To Stay

Open collaboration – which has brought the world Bitcoin, TEDx and Wikipedia – is likely to expand into new domains and displace traditional organizations, according to a paper in a journal of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). The paper is: “Open Collaboration: Principles and Performance,” by Sheen S. Levine of Columbia University and Michael J. Prietula of Emory University.

Phones + Cars = Lethal

A new study from the New England Journal of Medicine, confirms that dialing the phone is most dangerous, increasing one’s risk of crashing or nearly crashing eight-fold. Researchers collected 12-18 months of driving data from 42 newly licensed teenaged drivers from southwestern Virginia, as well as from 109 more experienced motorists from Washington.
