Telenor Pakistan has announced the launch of Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) services, a new feature designed to allow customers to make and receive calls over Wi-Fi networks using their mobile number. This service aims to address connectivity challenges in areas where mobile signals are weak or unavailable, providing users with a reliable alternative to traditional network coverage. By leveraging Wi-Fi networks, VoWiFi ensures uninterrupted communication in basements, remote locations, and during temporary disruptions to mobile services, improving overall accessibility for Telenor users across the country.

The launch of VoWiFi is part of Telenor Pakistan’s ongoing strategy to enhance customer experiences by integrating advanced technologies into its service offerings. Waqas Aman Ullah, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Telenor Pakistan, highlighted the transformative potential of the service, noting that it represents a significant step forward in nationwide connectivity. He emphasized that VoWiFi reflects the company’s commitment to providing innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of customers while strengthening the reliability and convenience of mobile communications. Telenor credited its Technology and Commercial teams, including Waleed Abbas, Head of Product Strategy, Syed Fawad Shabbar, Manager Network & Devices, and Memoona Arshad, Assistant Manager Devices & Product Planning, for their pivotal role in bringing the service to market.

VoWiFi service on compatible handsets enables users to maintain seamless voice communication regardless of mobile network limitations. This is particularly beneficial in traditionally underserved areas where conventional mobile networks may not provide consistent coverage. Telenor’s focus on integrating Wi-Fi calling into its portfolio is expected to enhance connectivity for individuals and businesses alike, offering a future-ready solution that supports uninterrupted communication, higher call quality, and improved accessibility. The service is now available to Telenor customers who can verify their device compatibility through Telenor’s website

By introducing VoWiFi, Telenor Pakistan sets new benchmarks for communication standards within the telecom industry. The service not only improves voice call reliability but also reinforces the company’s dedication to expanding access to modern communication technologies across Pakistan. As more users adopt the feature, the integration of Wi-Fi calling is expected to optimize network usage and create a smoother, more dependable experience for mobile subscribers. This initiative aligns with Telenor Pakistan’s broader vision of enabling innovative solutions that empower communities, ensure connectivity in challenging environments, and enhance overall digital engagement nationwide.
