Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Director General for Services Rafia Syed represented the authority at the HBL PASHA CXO Meetup in Lahore, engaging with policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators on how technology can be harnessed to strengthen Pakistan’s export competitiveness. Syed’s participation reflected the trade body’s growing interest in positioning technology adoption as a core lever for export growth beyond the IT sector alone.

In remarks shared following the event, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan said the next frontier of Pakistan’s export growth lies at the intersection of technology and trade. With Pakistan’s IT industry continuing to grow as one of the country’s leading export sectors, the authority said an equally significant opportunity lies in leveraging its capabilities to strengthen the competitiveness of the broader export economy. It said integrating digital technologies, automation, artificial intelligence, and data driven solutions across manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, logistics, tourism, and other export value chains could enhance productivity, increase value addition, improve quality and compliance, and unlock new opportunities in global markets.

The authority framed its role in export promotion as extending beyond simply connecting products with markets to also connecting innovation with industry. By strengthening linkages between technology providers and exporters, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan said it aims to accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions across export value chains, enabling businesses to compete more effectively in an increasingly digital global economy.

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan said it looks forward to working with industry and ecosystem partners to advance technology driven trade, strengthen export competitiveness, and build resilient, future ready value chains for Pakistan. The authority’s participation in the Lahore meetup adds to a broader pattern of engagement between trade promotion bodies and Pakistan’s technology sector, as government institutions increasingly look to position digital tools and AI adoption as central to the country’s next phase of export led growth.
