Sindh Textbook Board has announced plans to distribute free tablets to students from Grade 9 to Intermediate across the province. The initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted education for students and reduce reliance on traditional textbooks.
Chairman Abdul Aleem Lashari revealed the plan at an event in Karachi, where the distribution of textbooks for the upcoming academic year also commenced. The tablet distribution will be implemented in two phases, with senior students receiving devices first, followed by students from other grades.
The Sindh government aims to eventually transition to a paperless education system, aligning with modern learning trends. However, the tablet distribution plan still requires final approval from the Chief Minister.
The distribution of free textbooks for the current academic year is nearing completion, with over 27.5 million textbooks distributed across Sindh. Publishers who fail to meet deadlines will face penalties.
